So this will be my 3000th post. Might as well use it for something good.

Oof. What a day.
It was hot.
I got sunburned worse in one day than i did from last weekend in Austin.

So much good music. So many good people. I have been spoiled over the past week.

I was planning on doing these in the order of the sets, but I really want to start with EITS, so i will. I had a backstage access pass, so I got great spots for most of these pics.

Explosions in the Sky went on almost an hour late, but they brought the good shit for sure. So here we go:

Explosions in the Sky:

Midlake were supposed to play 3rd from the end, but do to something unforseen (some people were saying another Midlake hissy fit) they ended up going on right before EitS.
The crowd was all over them and they sounded great.

Ghostland Observatory was before Midlake, and they probably had the crowd most amped besides the headliners.
Im not a huge fan of theirs, but you cant argue that they put on a great live show.

One of my favorite artists in DFW, Doug Burr, played an incredible set on the 3rd stage. The crowd grew through out his whole set and people were really into him. Look for this board's very own glenfarris playing keys:

Awesome, I'm completely jealous. I wish I could have been that close for Explosions and Ghostland. I'm still a bit bitter about Midlake though..

Great pictures, Jasun. Glad you had fun.
Sucks that they didn't keep to schedule. I'm a big advocate of staying on schedule. Bonnaroo would not be for me.

thanks izzle.

yeah, the delay started with midlake.
they were suppose to go on and were all set up and then nothing for 30 minutes.

ghostland set up on the otehr stage and started and by then the show was almost an hour behind.

the thing that sucked the most was that EitS only got to play about 30 minutes.

but it was an incredible 30 minutes.

You're taking that really well. I would have been apoplectic.
I'm still jealous.

Oh yeah, Happy Birthday.

Sorta hard to have a Noobs tree in the middle of a baseball stadium. It was warm yesterday.

I've said it before and I'll say it again....

I love the energy and apparent thought/talent behind the Paperchase. I just don't like the music.

I had a lot of fun yesterday.  Great music and lots of cute boys...god my friend and I have turned into men and keep commenting every good looking guy we see.  Was it seriously a Midlake ego trip that messed stuff up?  If so its going to put a damper on my appreciation of the music.  A bad attitude just ruins things for me.

I already feel that way, he had a hissy fit in Houston on thursday night. This just makes me lose interest even more, I'll stick to the CDs..

At least the last 10 times I've seen them.

They're great, when they fucking attempt to play well, and not waste my money and night. It was really lame, and unprofessional..
