And now for something completely different. I am hijacking this little cubby-hole for something ACL centric. Basically make your personal ACL playlist of songs. I broached the idea earlier. I usually burn several CD’s of ACL music to get myself familiar with bands that I might not know as well and usually for others as well. I know if you have any musical diversity like most y’all do, it is quite impossible to distill it all one’s fave’s to one CD, so I liked the idea of going with a theme. But you don’t have to, as you can go any way you want as long as the few simple rules are followed. The title of my CD denotes the kind of rigorous research I put into it and if for any reason you don’t like it then obviously you didn’t listen to it the same way and therefore your opinion is rendered moot. Up it or don’t up it, do what you can. Show me what you got.

Rules:

1.)    Playlist should be Audio CD length and 2009 acl artists only (duh).
2.)    No more then 2 songs from any one artist because frankly you would be terribly uninteresting if you couldn’t.
3.)    Should have a title. Doesn’t matter what, but should you burn said playlist you would be required by NooB law to write that name on the CD, punishable by,, ...

General spirit of things, not rules per se.

Try not repeat others songs if you can,, or at least minimize. Try to go for less obvious choices then some sort of greatest hits collection. All I can think of at this time.

Great idea! I'll get to work on one.
Did you edit the song info so all of these songs are on the same "album" in iTunes? The only thing I hate about DLing mixes is that it adds a different album for one song to my library.

Had re-rip it from cd at work so lost all original cd data except song title. I don't use I-tunes, but I would think you would be able select all and re-label.

well, I throw mine into a giant playlist on my iphone and generally listen to that in the car if I'm doing ACL music, but in the straight CD format, which I make for my friends that are going to get into the new bands, I'll usually throw together an "ACL Discovery" set, and since I need to make one to take to my friend on Sat. Here is that playlist.

1 School of Seven Bells "Half Asleep"
2 Blitzen Trapper "Sleepytime in the Western World"
3 the Parlor Mob "Hard Times"
4 the Avett Brothers "I and Love and You"
5 Phoenix "Lisztomania"
6 Andrew Bird "the Privateers"
7 DeVotchKa "Transliterator"
8 Deer Tick "Easy"
9 Alberta Cross "Lucy Rider"
10 Cotton Jones "Gotta Cheer Up"
11 Grizzly Bear "Cheerleader"
12 the Decemberists "the Rake's Song"
13 Sound Tribe Sector 9 "the Spectacle"
14 Ghostland Observatory "Dancin' On My Grave"
15 Dan Auerbach "the Prowl"
16 Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears "Get Yo Shit"
17 Here We Go Magic "Only Pieces"
18 White Lies "To Lose My Life"
19 Toadies "Away"
20 Passion Pit "the Reeling"
